Desk research from the linked NHL update and MSG event page, checked September 16, 2026. The sources disagree; we have not independently resolved the start time. No interview, attendance, ticket purchase, live schedule service or venue endorsement is claimed. Sources & method ↓

The NHL’s August 26 schedule update lists the October 6 Islanders-at-Rangers game at 8 p.m. local time, changed from 7. MSG’s event page currently lists the same matchup and date at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, with doors at 6:30.
Those are conflicting published times, not two ways of describing the same arrival plan. Our September 16 check did not establish which listing will govern the event.
Do not turn an unresolved listing into a firm plan
A later-looking webpage is not, by itself, proof that a league announcement has been superseded. Nor does an official announcement mean every other official page must be ignored. We are flagging the disagreement instead of choosing a winner without confirmation.
Check your ticket, the current venue event page and any event-specific message from the ticket provider. If they still disagree, ask the venue or ticket provider to confirm before arranging a tight arrival or return connection.
Two official sources disagree. That is the fact to plan around—not a reason to guess.

Keep the practical checks separate
MSG asks visitors to have digital tickets ready and check the suggested entrance on the ticket. That preparation is useful regardless of which time is eventually confirmed.
Keep doors, game time and your group’s meeting time as separate entries. A screenshot can preserve an outdated plan long after a webpage changes. Send the official link to your group and recheck it before departure.
This article is a dated source check, not an automatic calendar update or an alert service. Saving it will not notify you if the listings change. We will update the article when we verify a resolution.
